    28.04.2010 Komatsu to expand in Turkmenistan

    Japanese company Komatsu intends to significantly expand the network of service centers in the capital and regions of Turkmenistan, as well as to train local staff in the country. This was stated by the President, Chief executive officer of Komatsu Ltd Kunio Noji during his meeting with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In particular, the company plans to organize a three-month training course and a special department on the basis of the Dashoguz Agricultural Institute.

    During the meeting the Turkmen leader noted the high level of long-term fruitful cooperation, which is successfully developing a number of areas, primarily in supplying high-performance road-building and earth moving equipment that is used in almost all major construction sites in the country.

    In May 2008 an agreement was signed between the Government of Turkmenistan and Japanese companies Komatsu and Itochu Corporation, under which Turkmenistan has committed to buy up to 200 units of modern machines each year until 2015, which will be used in the fuel and energy sector, transport sector and in the sphere of water management and agriculture.
