21.05.2010 Long-Awaited All Terrain Cranes from TerexTerex Cranes AC 1000 and AC 100/4 L all terrain cranes finally broke cover at Bauma. The 1,200t capacity AC1000 the most powerful all-terrain crane can travel on the road with its boom still connected and to have the fastest set-up time in its class. It is designed for wind turbine and high-rise building applications and comes with the choice of 50m or 100m main boom (although the longer option must be removed before going on the road). To carry the extra weight the nine-axle unit is fitted with 445/95R25 (16.00R25) tyres that allow driving speeds up to 50 mph.
Inside the cab (which tilts to 20ยบ) is an integrated touch-screen control system showing information on wind speed/direction, hook load, nominal load capacity, reach and boom length and also calculates and measures the outrigger loads. It has an integrated working range limiter allowing "virtual walls" to be set to prevent collisions.
The AC 100/4L - 100t capacity all-terrain crane that stays within the 2.55m width limit for standard on-road travel. The four-axle unit has a 59.4m main boom with a 19m double fly jib (which can be hydraulically offset) and an 8m extension that combine for a maximum 81.7m reach. With its easy transport and compact dimensions the AC 100/4L can be used effectively on jobs as small as 50t.
