21.11.2011 Palfinger High Performance Knuckle Boom Loader Cranes PK 44502 and PK 48002

Palfinger has launched new heavy duty knuckle boom loader cranes PK 44502 and the PK 48002 EH High Performance featuring easy maintenance and cost effectiveness. The cranes are designed to be cheap to run with minimal environmental impact. Larger of the two is the 46.5 tonne-metre PK 48002 EH and the PK 44502 is rated at 41.9 tonne-metres. They can have up to six hydraulic extensions giving both cranes hydraulic outreach of 16.3 metres.

Both versions have HPLS where extra capacity is available at a lower working speed. Powerlink is fitted as a mechanical means of smoothing out power delivery through the working range. Its reverse linkage allows the boom to be angled upwards by 15 degrees, for example, to improve access in confined spaces. Another feature is the maintenance-free extension boom system. The expenditure for servicing is considerably less due to the maintenance-free extension boom system. This is because the use of sliding elements made from special synthetic material combined with time-tested KTL cathodic dip painting means that the operator no longer needs to service the boom system.
