21.12.2011 Komatsu Tier 4-Interim Articulated Dump Truck

Komatsu has presented new articulated dump truck HM400-3 which is powered by a 469 horsepower, Tier 4-Interim Komatsu SAA6D140E-6 engine. Maximum gross vehicle weight is 162,569 pounds, and the truck can haul up to 44.1 tons, or 40 metric tons, at its maximum ground speed of 34.7 mph. Compared to the HM400-2, body capacity and payload have been increased. New model has the Komatsu Traction Control System, which has speed sensors located on four wheels that detect tire slippage, after which automatic application of the inter-axle differential lock occurs.

The Komatsu Equipment Management Monitoring System (EMMS) has enhanced diagnostic features that give the operator and technicians greater monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities. EMMS continually monitors all critical systems, preventative maintenance schedule, and provides troubleshooting assistance to minimize diagnosis and repair time. With the introduction of the Komatsu CARE Program, every Komatsu Tier 4-I machine comes standard with complimentary factory scheduled maintenance for 2,000 hours or the first three years, and includes two complimentary Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF) exchanges within the first five years. The Komatsu CARE program covers all new Komatsu Tier 4 Interim equipment, whether rented, leased or purchased.
