01.07.2010 Terex CD 225 Heavy Maintenance Crane (HMC)

The Terex CD 225 Heavy Maintenance Crane (HMC) has been designated as Air Ground Support Equipment for aircraft maintenance actions at Naval Air Stations around the world. Terex Cranes recently presented a CD 225 HMC, which was manufactured for the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) for use by US Navy and US Marine Corps aviation units, at a major, new-product launch event at their production facility in Waverly. Designed for cab-down driving and operation, the CD 225 HMC is compact, rugged and reliable. Featuring a high-visibility cab with all-round and overhead glass, easy 1-step up access and equipped with a 26ft (8m) or 62ft (18.5m) boom, this 25-ton Heavy Maintenance Crane combines simplicity of use and service with high speed and performance.

Commonly used as a yard crane and for drill rig, petro-chemical, refinery, rail road, quarry and mining equipment maintenance, other technical features include: 62ft (18.5m) or 72- ft (22 m) boom length, 26 ft (8 m) or 43 ft (13 m) off-settable jib, 121ft (36.9 m) maximum tip height (with 72 ft boom), Cummins QSB4.5 130 hp (97 kw) engine, 2-speed winch piston motor 364 fpm (1.8 m/s), 12,510 lbs (5675 kg) maximum line pull, 91 GPM (353 l/m) gear pumps, 14.00 x 24, 20 PR tires, 46,000 lb (20,900 kg) GVW with 72 ft (22m) boom. Heating and air conditioning are standard.
